We Believe...

Statement of Faith

·        …that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, which is the authoritative guidance for this congregation (II Timothy 3:16).

·        …in one God, who is eternally manifested as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  God is the Creator of all things  (Genesis 1:1, John 1:3; Colossians 1:16).  God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

·        …that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself (II Corinthians 5:19).  Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and rose again on the third day for our sins (John 3:16, Luke 24:46).

·        …that the Holy Spirit is the Comforter that came to dwell with us, and in us  (John 14:16-17, 26).

·        …that genuine repentance is a prerequisite for a conversion experience.  Those that come to Jesus Christ with a repentant heart will not be turned away (John 6:37).

·        …in water baptism by immersion (Acts 2:38, Acts 19:5, Romans 6:4).  Water baptism is an outward sign of the inward work of repentance (I Peter 3:21).

·        …that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to all believers independent of religious affiliation.  The Holy Spirit empowers the believer (Acts 1:8), and is a separate and distinct experience outside of water baptism (Acts 8:16, Acts 10:44-48).

·        …that the initial sign of Holy Spirit Baptism is Speaking in Tongues  (Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-48).  We recognize that there are other signs of the Holy Spirit's presence in our lives (Galations 5:22-23).

·        …in the Laying on of Hands for ordination of Pastors, Elders, Divine Healing and for receiving gifts of the Holy Spirit (Titus 1:5, Mark 16:18, I Timothy 4:14).

·        …in the last days, which include the Second Coming of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment of all, and their eternal reward (I Thessalonians 4:16-17, Hebrews 6:2).
